About The Ready Room
Too much aviation study asks pilots to memorize isolated facts scattered across regulations, handbooks, aircraft manuals, and traditional study guides without showing how those facts connect in the airplane.
That problem inspired Blake, a pilot and graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Aerospace Sciences Institute, to create The Ready Room: a growing library of interactive, source-backed tools designed to make difficult aviation subjects easier to explore, understand, and explain.
The Ready Room turns dense aviation material into clear and interactive learning tools. Each resource emphasizes connections, operational context, and practical understanding rather than rehearsed answers or isolated definitions.
It is a place for pilots to slow down, examine the details, and follow the information back to its original source without turning every lesson into a test.
The mission of The Ready Room is to make serious aviation study more visual, accessible, and useful without sacrificing accuracy or operational context.
Every tool should help a pilot understand what is true, why it is true, how it affects a flight, and where the information can be independently verified.
The Ready Room uses primary FAA and aircraft sources whenever possible. Content is reviewed and updated as regulations, guidance, standards, and aircraft documents change.
The Ready Room is an educational study companion. It does not replace flight instruction, current FAA publications, official weather information, or aircraft-specific operating documents.
Every Ready Room tool should help a pilot move from a condition to a defensible decision, then verify the reasoning against the source.
The standard: If a resource only displays a fact without helping the pilot connect it to consequences, options, and its source, it is not finished.
